About Jennie Rutz

I grew up in Canada and pursued my dream to become a Classical (hand-drawn) Animator in Toronto.

After feeling creatively unsatisfied working in this field, I followed my roots back to Italy to explore and get my spark back.

I spent nearly a year in Florence before the sea drew me to Sicily, where I learned to surf and exhibited my art.

Surfing then led me to Australia where I fell in love and became a mum. When my relationship ended, I started selling my artwork at local markets and my business slowly grew.

My original paintings have since exhibited at the 40 Under 40 Exhibition in Cooroy, The Brisbane Affordable Art Fair, and the Small-Scale Art Award at Lethbridge Gallery.

I started Live Sketching for events in 2023 and sketched over 450 people in 2024.

Live Sketching beautifully combines my drawing skills from animation and love of fashion from Italy, with my quest for meaning.
